We Rang In the 2010 Football Season with Mini-Wieners and Vitaminwater Zero. You?

At the Deadspin Fall Football Kickoff Party sponsored by the good folks at vitaminwater zero, the second floor of NYC's Professor Thom's was packed with writers, media luminaries, hoopsters, interns, interlopers, and a few actual sports fans unabashedly flirting, schmoozing, imbibing, and screaming at flat screens. By 8pm the place was as loud and disorderly as the crowd forced to stand and listen to DMB in New Orleans, and the platters of crispy wings, mozzarella sticks, quesadillas, miniature pigs(kins) in blankets (see what just happened there?), and sliders were descended upon as soon as the unmistakable smell of fry reached the revelers' noses. Dude clusters punctuated by football-loving ladies dotted the outdoor patio and the VIP viewing parlor featuring a wall-sized screen flanked by larger-than-life vitaminwater zero bottle standees on which the Purple Team vied against the Black Team. The crowd roared as the Black Team scored an opening drive touchdown, and all that is right in the world was restored. We held our wieners and vitaminwater zeros aloft in victory—we'd all just won at life. Football was back!
